I would have expected Hoffenheim to go after Schalke’s backup keeper and Ralf Fährmann, having their youth policy in mind.
Anyway, Hildebrand could turn into a trophy tourist. Winning the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, winning the Copa del Rey with Valencia and now winning the Bundesliga again with Hoffenheim?

A great move for both TSG and Hildebrand. Hopefully he can get his career together, helping Hoffenheim in the process.

I think this is a *great* acquisition for TSG. I think he will be rejuvenated by the move. Seriously.

I think it looks better on paper. Or at least more important on paper. It’s not as though Hoffenheim have been losing matches via goalkeeper blunders or general softness at the position. In terms of next season in Europe, yes, it is an important addition.

Good point, Jan.
Let’s hope Hilderbrand can revive his career at Hoffenheim, considering Rangnick used to know him from their time at Stuttgart. Then we will see how it goes from there. I still do not believe that he is a ‘former Germany international goalkeeper’, like what I had been reading in news reports.
